From the Liquitex website

Fluid Mediums perform much in the way that their name implies, they are fluid in nature and reduce viscosity of heavier paints and gels, tend to self-level and do not retain brushstrokes. Fluid Mediums modify acrylic paints in a variety of ways and contain acrylic resins to maintain or enhance adhesion and durability.

ALL FLUID MEDIUMS
• Increase Flow
• Dry transparent or translucent
• Extend the volume of thin paint
• Make an excellent archival adhesive for collage

AA 4011 reducer can be used with all waterbased paints and is a great bit of kit to have.

Quote:

Reducer for the entire Auto Air Colour including 4600 Series Candy Colours
Decreases curing time by assisting water's evaporation from colour through mild flashing or reducers co-solvent.
Improves flow, decreases tip dry and improves atomization of colours
Reduce colours approximately 10% per volume for use with spray guns and 25% or more per volume for use with airbrushres. For use with small tip sizes of 0.3mm and less, some colours may be reduced in excess of 100% per volume.

4011 is good but if using with Auto Air or Auto Borne, add the 4011, stir and leave for 10 minutes. The result is a lot smoother flow as the paint had been properly thinned.

Liquitex is a brand name and the airbrush medium is basically the paint binder without any pigment (so you can use it as an intercoat clear as well to protect work you have already started)

Nice one Ian, forgot to mention that, I found out the hard way when I first used it, pain in the arse having to wait but makes a hell of a difference.

Thanks for the kind words Roger :) I think it would be a near impossible task to write a book covering the entire subject of paint alone let alone airbrushing, plus there are way better painters out there than li'l ole me lol

Organic Image is like The Borg, a collective hive of information. The cloud computing of airbrushing. The knowledge is stored in many locations and shared upon request (and sometimes when you haven't even asked for it lol)

The best thing to do if you want to know something is first of all search this forum, the question has probably been asked before so there will probably be an answer burried in here somewhere, and if that fails, just ask B) I don't think anyone in here is shy when it comes to talking about airbrushing, paint, technique etc so someone will always answer, even if it is just to say "sorry, I don't know" so a thread doesn't go ignored :)
