Upol is 1K urethane clear in a spray can. Is nice stuff, fairly thick so you don't need a bazillion coats like traditional rattle laq clear. Its made for automotive spot repair. |

That'll be polycarbonate ones which shouldn't be painted, it's not even recomended you put stickers on them. Fibreglass is ok. |

check out availabilty of a product KTM 9 ,its a non toxic waterbased clear that is being used for guitars John Doolin ? [means little to me but may to others] has done a very in depth review and aplication guide to it and is saying its about the best out thier now it was initialy designed for interior use on floors so im not sure about UV screaning but durability doesnt seem to be an issue or at least not for guitars so helmets may be another good aplication for it i think its made by graplin USA and as there are no problems with shipping due to its non toxic formula, it may well be readily available in Canada but if not you could import it yourself theoreticly of course its not the cheapest of products but it lends itself very well indeed to "amature "type operations where isocyanate or even nitrocellulose could be a problem its self cross linking so no problems with delam when layered and would be as good as anything in your particular case J.Doolin says it sands and buffs great and anyone would be hard pressed to see a difference between an instrument finished with KTM 9 and those finished with more traditional product ,it also acepts solvent dye AKA candy dye http://www.doolinguitars.com/waterbo...tructions.html Paul |
