I find the Private stock white sprays real smooth, but the EFX Opaque Titanium Plasma White sprays real grainy and seems to splutter a lot more.. am I really supposed to be straining this? |

Absolutely not, that should be even smoother, all I can suggest is you give it a good shake. Are you sure these aren't getting hot or cold somewhere in the house? |

i was going to say that even standard efx white sprays better than private stock white although i found it doesnt cover as well as PS i havent tried this plasma white but i thought it was intended to be even better than the other whites i always find that PS white and black needs some reduction and i always get some tip dry with them standard EFX white i find to be much weaker than PS ,i dont know if it is loaded less with pigment but PS covers far better in my experiance with it what is the actual deal with this plasma Gordan ie what should its benifits be compared to other whites Paul |

they're all just stood in the spare room. I'll give it a gooooood shake and mess around with pressures n reducing it. and Artspray.. I had a quick look at some other posts and it was said that Plasma white was mainly for highlights, even on other whites |

The plasma white you are talking about is no longer made, as far as I know, as it was very expensive to make and no one would be willing to pay double the cost of normal white. It was the one that you only used for highlights. The new EFX plasma white is different from the stuff you've used Paul. It's a little less transparent but it is more white and has less colour shift than before. It can also be mixed with other colours. The new PS white is more transparent and flows better than the previous one. |

whites are always problematic ,i found the PS [old stuff] was very good for coverage but not so hot for detail EFX [old suff] was as you said it was more transparant ,i always put that down to a lower pigment loading to get the flow ,its always a trade off with whites and untill a lighter weight pigment can replace titanium its just something we have to work around is the new plasma a different pigment ie not titanium ? No Paul the plasma is still titanium, it's just been tweaked for greater solids. |

so it wil still need a good shake then LOL i find i cant keep any whites going for long after reduction as the pigment settles in the cup they just fall out of suspension too quickly ,i find myself in the habit of boiling the cup every minute or so as you know i also mix my own from concentrated pigmented ink ,i have some transparant white which i add to the mix ,i pay for this with coverage but i get lovely shade outs i do like my old efx white it seems to have soft look to it almost a pastel like quality if that makes sense thanks for the updated info i wasnt aware the formulas had been changed paul |

I gave it a Goooood shake and it seemed a bit nicer. ![]() I think to be honest a lot of the problems with it were down to my grex xn. I think I've fekked up the needle and just can't get it to spray smooth. Gordon.. help! lol |

How do you mean, can't spray smooth? Is the needle damaged or does it need a good clean or lube perhaps? |
