finaly located the best bulbs to replicate the 3M sungun at a fraction of the cost

use 12volt SOLUX daylight halogen bulbs with a suitable rechargable torch unit that acepts M16 fittings ,or apapt one or run one through a transformer

4700 kelvins and a CRI of 99% ,these seem to be all the rage for photographers and printmakers and are being used for automotive ,chances are these are what 3M fit anyway as they are the the closest thing to daylight D50

available in 35 watt as per 3M spec or the more powerfull 50 watt version

in thoery you could have a sungun at less than £40 around $50 depending on the specs of your rechargable torch, that is less than the cost of a replacement SUNGUN bulb
